Andy Armanino to succeed Richard Moore as Moore Global chairman

After 15 years as Chairman of the leading international accountancy and consulting network, Moore Stephens International, now Moore Global, Richard Moore today announced his decision to step down at the end of 2019. During Richard’s period as Chairman, which began in 2004, the network has grown its combined revenues from around USD 600m to around USD 3bn, extending its global coverage to more than 110 countries. Richard will remain an active member of the network through Moore Family Office Limited, specialising in advising international private client families

Andy Armanino will succeed Richard as Chairman of Moore Global from 1 January 2020. Andy is currently a member of Moore Global’s board and until 1 January 2019 was CEO and Managing Partner of Armanino LLP, growing the business to become one of the top 25 accounting and business consulting firms in the US, achieving recognition by Inside Public Accounting as a ‘Best of the Best’ firm.

“I am stepping down at a time when our network can face the future with tremendous optimism. We are now an organisation of true global capability, with a reputation for quality and differentiated client service. I am personally delighted that Andy will succeed me in the role. He is an individual with great compassion, drive and vision, and a global perspective on how the role of professional service firms must evolve and adapt, to continuously better serve client needs,” said Richard Moore, Chairman of Moore Global.

“It’s a privilege for me to succeed Richard – his grandfather started the original Moore firm in London more than a century ago, and under Richard’s leadership, Moore Global is now one of the leading networks worldwide,” said Andy Armanino. “The organisation is well positioned to meet the main challenges facing our profession as we look ahead: sustaining the talent pool that we need to grow our future leaders and innovators; and, as our business capabilities improve because of a world made faster and smaller through technology and data, we must ensure it is clients, first and foremost, who benefit from our ability to enhance our already strong international expertise and global resources.”

About Andy Armanino

Andy Armanino started his career with Arthur Young as an auditor and joined Armanino LLP in 1989 where he built a full-service audit offering before becoming, at 29, the youngest partner in the firm’s history. In 2005, he was elected to Managing Partner where he served until his retirement from Armanino in 2018. Andy’s leadership helped propel the firm to be one of the fastest growing and best managed firms in the US, earning awards and accolades from the profession for its entrepreneurial spirit and innovation.

Under Andy’s leadership the firm developed new services, expanded technology offerings, grew a full-service consulting department and strategic acquisitions extended capabilities and geographic locations. Working through the Moore Global Network, Andy helped establish and expand international audit and tax services to such regions as China, other parts of Asia Pacific and Europe.  Also, during his tenure, Andy oversaw the creation of a best-in-class Learning & Development program, an end to end sales and marketing operation, a recruiting arm, and a fully built out C-Suite. His most gratifying accomplishment was launching the Armanino Foundation in 2016.

Currently, as well as chairing Moore North America and sitting on the Moore Global Board, Andy is on the Board of the Armanino Foundation, the California Bank of Commerce and is a Council Member-at-Large of the AICPA. Andy also sits on the Bishops Council of the Diocese of Oakland.

Andy has received a number of professional accolades including INSIDE Public Accounting’s “Most Admired Peers” and has been named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting.
