New Director of Quality for Moore Stephens International

Lesley Byrne, an experienced regulation expert and chartered accountant is to join Moore Stephens International as Director of Quality. In her role, Lesley will be responsible for ensuring member firms of the Moore Stephens network deliver high standards of professional quality through review, guidance and support. She will lead a global team of outstanding senior technical experts working directly with Moore Stephens’ firms in more than 100 countries.
Lesley takes over from current Director of Quality, Mike Hathorn, who will support Lesley in her transition to the role ahead of his planned retirement later in 2019.
She has worked for more than two decades in regulatory compliance and joins from a leading global investment bank, where she was Director of Regulatory Rule Oversight with responsibility for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has an impressive track record in the accounting profession, establishing effective audit, insolvency and practice monitoring functions in her senior roles with world-class professional regulatory bodies, leading change in significant technology initiatives, the raising of quality standards and regulatory frameworks.
