David was invited to join the Government of Sierra Leone as the Country's Minister of Finance and later Minister of Trade and Industry for three years from 2007 to 2010. As the Minister of Trade and Industry of Sierra Leone, David managed one the most successful Trade and Investment forums for the Government of Sierra Leone in London on 18-19 November 2009. He also managed and rolled out the new incentives policy that is being enjoyed by businesses in Sierra Leone today. In Academia David lectured Auditing and Investigations part time at the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone from 2001 to 2003
